Saving Strength

I have seen the God of all perfection,

A Lord so awesome and mighty,

The vindication of the righteous,

The righteous cause of all His people.

I have seen Him called the “saving strength” of His anointed;

I have seen Him named their “shield and buckler” in time of need.

“He is their saving strength.

The LORD is the saving strength of His anointed,”

A poet once scripted.

I have seen Him, my shield, my keeper, my buckler.

I have seen His Hand mighty upon my life.

I have seen Him lead me in the path of His way.

From the Jordan depths to the Hermon heights, to Mount Mizar. You have proven Yourself strong.

Lord, You have shown Yourself strong.

My shield and my keeper,

You have proved Yourself strong!

You are my God and my King,

My shield and my strength,

My ever present Help in time of need.

You are my source and my sufficiency.

When I met You, I did not know I was meeting a Father,

The Father of Heavenly Lights. My God, my King, my Shepherd, my Guide.

I did not know that I had found my strength,

My hope, my Lord, my righteousness,

And my vindication, all in who you were!
