The Ephesians 5 Man

Updated: Mar 7

He stands like an oak, rooted in truth,

His strength not in might, but in the way he lays himself down,

Not with words alone, but with the quiet weight of sacrifice.

A man who loves not for what he receives,

But for what he gives,

Pouring himself out as Christ did for His bride.

His hands, steady and sure,

Not to control, but to lead with grace,

To build, not to break,

To shield, not to shackle.

In his arms, love is a covering,

Not a command; a refuge, not a restraint.

He does not walk ahead to be served,

Nor behind to be unseen,

But beside,

A cornerstone in the home he tends,

A protector, not in dominance,

But in devotion.

Like a shepherd, he knows the weight of his call,

To cherish, to guide,

To wash her in the Word,

To hold her dreams as gently as he holds her heart.

Not once does he demand submission,

For he himself is first submitted;

To Christ, to love, to the sacred charge of his vows.

His voice carries wisdom, slow to anger,

Quick to listen, rich in kindness.

He does not raise it to wound,

But to uplift, to strengthen, to call forth life.

For a man like this does not fear losing himself in love,

He knows that in surrender, he finds himself fully.

He is the one who kneels in prayer before he stands in battle,

Who serves before he is served,

Who leads not by command,

But by the undeniable testimony of his life.

He is more than a provider,

He is a presence.

More than a protector, he is a pillar.

More than a husband, he is a reflection.

A mirror of Christ,

Etched with love,

Forged in sacrifice,

Wholly given,

Wholly strong.

This is the Ephesians 5 man.
