Don’t Stress/Kill Yourself

Updated: Feb 15

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

Many people assume that once God reveals something to them, its fulfillment depends entirely on their personal effort. This assumption creates unnecessary strain. They attempt to control every variable, anticipate every obstacle, and accelerate every stage. Over time, this approach exhausts both clarity and strength.

Scripture presents a different structure. Your role is participation. God’s role is fulfillment.

Elijah experienced this distinction in a decisive moment. After confronting the prophets of Baal and witnessing undeniable demonstration of God’s power, he later found himself mentally and physically drained. The intensity of responsibility had taken its toll. God did not respond by demanding greater effort. He allowed Elijah to rest and recover before continuing his assignment.

1 Kings 19:4-8

Kenneth Hagin taught that anxiety emerges when you attempt to carry responsibilities that belong to God. Faith, by contrast, releases those burdens while maintaining disciplined obedience. This distinction preserves stability and prevents unnecessary exhaustion.

When your thinking is governed by trust in God’s faithfulness, your effort becomes structured rather than strained. You continue to execute what has been entrusted to you, but you do so without internal pressure to force outcomes prematurely.

Myles Munroe often reminded his listeners that purpose does not demand self destruction. It demands understanding. When you understand how God governs increase, you stop attempting to accelerate processes that are already secured.
