All It Ever Was

The Arizona skies never shone any brighter,

The road to merry never called any louder,

The bespoke of fun and amazement never sizzled any hotter!

Come, my love,

Arise, for a new day,

A new adventure awaits us in the Phoenix suns,

A parade of lights under the beautiful, radiant Northern Lights.

Come, my love,

Let us bask in the grandeur of the Canadian plains,

The rich tapestry of wit and charm across the golden prairies.

I saw this day, where we laughed merrily,

Wrapped in the sweet ambiance of dusk and

The evening’s warmth.

I never knew I could ever get this creative,

But creative prowess had her perfect work in me.

I put pen to paper and crafted lyricisms

To the rhythm, the resonance,

To the sound of my heartbeat.

Let me tell you of all it ever was,

How we once felt connected,

How the sea of street lights

Beckoned us up the hilltops of Seattle.

“Sure,

let me know what our next destination would be.”

“I’ve got packs and suitcase and yes,

I am ready to go wherever the road takes us.”

Talk to me about the joy and the symphony

Of the noonday sun in the belly of the Great 66.

To know I found you,

To sing the song of open hearts with you

Means more than you could ever tell.

Let’s switch up the game and

Run the glory sounds in Perth,

Enrich our souls in the sundry merriments

Of Sydney and sky high Brisbane.

I know of a beautiful spot,

Right down center of Adelaide,

Where we can dine to a sweet tête-à-tête.

Come, my love.

Let’s write the pages of our story.

Let us knit each leaf of this storybook and

Let our imaginations run wild.

Me and you. You and I against the world!

Let nothing halt our hallelujah.

Let nothing stop us in our tracks.

We have a story to finish!

Now, let’s come alive to the merriment that awaits us.

I could sing of all I ever wanted,

Tell you of something I longed to believe in,

But tonight, we are all believers.

You’ve shined a light on me.

I am Alive.

All It Ever Was,

…the story of all I ever wanted,

“something to believe in…

The song of open hearts.”

I wouldn’t want it any different,

And when you look into my eyes,

In that grand scenic view,

In the beautiful dusk of evening,

With the sun serenading your face so beautifully,

There, I know…

This is only just the start

Of the most beautiful thing

To have ever happened to me.

All It Ever Was

All I ever wanted

Something to believe in.

The song, of open hearts.”
